The plantation, evolvement, phytochemical, pharmaceutical and pharmacological properties of Plantago ovata have been reviewed to reconnoiter the plant’s diverse properties. P. belonging family Plantaginaceae is a perennial plant native Mediterranean area, particularly Southern Europe, North Africa West Asia. It has variety medicinal effects as it frequently employed in medications for its features such mucilage, super-disintegrant, gelling agent suspending well anti-diarrheal, anti-constipation, wound curer, hypocholesterolemic hypoglycemia. That’s why, may be utilized make products safe effective ethnobotanical cure different health problems. A number market preparations Ispaghula are also available local Bangladesh.
